What kind of pencil lead works best on smooth paper?
I am currently learning how to ink using technical pens (Koh-I-Noor Rapidographs) and usually like to sketch out an outline in pencil before beginning to ink. Recently, I have purchased some very smooth paper (Bee Paper Artist Marker Pad, “manga paper”), and while my pens work very well with it, I’m finding that the pencil I usually use to do my outlines (a mechanical pencil with 2B lead) tends to slip a lot. What kind of lead would work best on this sort of paper?
The softer the lead, the more of a impression it makes. You are using an HB. You must go to a higher B rated pencil. It is much softer the higher the number gets. I hopes this helps. Chris
